TYPE-IT
By Philip P. Kapusta P. O. Box 5423 Falmouth, Va. 22403
TYPE-IT converts your computer into a typewriter.
Print text to your printer letter by letter, line by line,
or page by page. TYPE-IT is NOT a word processor, and
its features are few and simple. Ideal for quick notes and
memos.
[F1] Set a new tab position interval.
[F2] Permits the user to change the mode by which text
characters will be sent to the printer.
Mode [0]: Each character typed into the keyboard will be
sent immediately to the printer. You must identify your
printer at the appropriate prompt. If your printer is a
dot matrix printer and not specifically an EPSON, or IBM
brand, select the [E] Epson LQ/FX choice. Most dot matrix
printers emulate the Epson printer as their default. Space
characters (ASCII 32) do not print on dot matrix printers
until a printable character is typed to the keyboard. This
is not a bug but rather a limitation of dot matrix printers.
Mode [1]: The current line of text will be sent to the
printer after the [ENTER] or [RETURN] key is pressed. This
is the default.
Mode [3]: Text will be sent to the printer for every 55
lines of text entered.
[F3] Prints all text entered up to the point that this key
is pressed, and then ejects the page from the printer.
[F4] Permits the user to save all text entered up to
the current cursor position to a user given file name.
[F5] Places the date into the text at the current cursor
position.
[F6] Places the time into the text at the current cursor
position.
[F7] Places the user's name into the text at the current
cursor position (applies only to registered users).
[F8] Allows the user to set left and right margins.
[F9] Displays the files on the default disk. Select a file
from the directory list and TYPE-IT will send it to your
printer. Press [ENTER] without a file name to abort this
function and return to your current document. This feature
is available to registered users only.
[F10] Exits the program.
